Chicago March/April 2009

At the end of March and beginning of April in 2009 McKay got the opportunity to go to Chicago and represent Jet Blue at a trade show. He had a booth where he handed out candy and information to people who plan meetings for their companies. Often times for big conventions or meetings they get a contract for flights to give those going discounts with the group code. Anyway. I went with him just for fun and we did do a little site seeing.

This is The Bean. We went at night so didn't get great pictures for showing what it is, but this is the end of it. It's basically a big bean shaped really shiny metal thingy. This is in Melenium Park in down town Chicago.

This is the underneath side of the bean. We are laying on the ground under it looking up.

This is us on an architectural of Chicago. Chicago has a number of very cool architectural buildings so this was pretty cool.

This is the Sears tower.

McKay has 2 mission buddies who live in Chicago that we met up with for dinner one night. This is McKay and his buddies Shaun Neal and Brandon Labrum. The restaurant we went to was called Rockit and we really liked it and would recommend it to anyone going to Chicago.

This one is of the guys and the wives.

Jet Blue Disneyland Trip January 2009

Most people that McKay works for Jet Blue Airways. He now works in what is called the Corporate and Government Support department. This is the department that handles those flying on corporate or government accounts that have contracts with Jet Blue. This is a recent change and he was in the Groups department before. He would handle contracts and bookings for groups of I think 10 or more. Anyway in 2008 while he was working for groups they told the department if they could hit certain revenue goals through the year they would all get to go to LA for a weekend together. They each got to take a guest, I was his guest. Anyway, they made the goal. We got confirmed seats on a flight to Long Beach, a rental car, hotel, day at Disneyland, tickets to a Lakers game and meals all comped by Jet Blue. This was a great weekend and I'm still looking for most of the pictures but here are 2.

Everyone there was in a competition to get the highest score on the Buzz Lightyear ride. I didn't do any shooting and was the lookout and scout for the good targets so he could get a higher score. But this is the picture of his high score. He won the competition.

There is a place where you can have someone take pictures of your faces and have them digitally put them into these backdrops. McKay and some of his co workers did this. He's the one in the front center with the blue light saber and a lot of hair...for him.

Mexican Cruise December 2008

We did a 5 day Mexican Cruise in December with our good friends Bob and Holly Foote again. They are great travel buddies. We stopped at Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada and we had a great time. Here are the photos.

Danielle para sailing at our stop in Cabo San Lucas

McKay para sailing in Cabo. He was the first one to go up and for a while the wind stopped and the driver didn't notice. Because he didn't notice he didn't pick up speed to make up for it and he dropped him in the water. We had to yell to get his attention to show him that McKay was dragging in the water.

This is one of McKay's bruises from being dragged by the dude while para sailing

This is Bob being Elvis. They had a karaoke each night on the ship and every night they had a competition for different singers. The last night on the cruise the winners of that person got to perform in a show. Since Bob won the Elvis competition he got to play Elvis in this show.

They also had a water slide on the boat and had a competition to see who could get the fastest time going down the slide. McKay and Bob practice going fast for days so they could be good and ready for the competition. When it came time for it there were no judges or other competitors who showed up. We figured it was canceled or we got the time wrong or something. After they had fun going down the slide anyway one of the ship crew members came to McKay and told them she had been timing them and that there was a kids competition and adults competition. She informed McKay that he had one the adults competition.

This is McKay and Bob at the top of the slide.

Virgina & Washington DC August 2008

In August 2008 we went to Virginia to visit Danielle's grandparents. McKay had never met them before and neither had Danielle's sisters husband. So we went there with Danielle's sister and her husband and Danielle's other sister. We had a great time visiting with the grandparents and doing some site seeing as well.
